{the larock family}

I should promote more sessions on Lake Erie. In the evening the lighting is beautiful and unless you were there, you would think it was one of the Carolina beaches. I have been photographing this family since Evelyn, their oldest child was ten days old. They are a HOOT. They always give me a good chuckle. I think they look gorgeous with their summer glow in their white and khaki. A perfect way to end the summer is a family portrait to cherish for a lifetime. It's been fun watching them grow as a family and I love that I'm able to capture these moments for my friends.

{ava}

Ava was such a little sweet pea. She braved the heat and did a great job during her session. She has her daddy's looks and mommy's personality. Love her big brown eyes! Although she looks super duper cute all dressed up, I think she was the happiest in a diaper only!

~surprise for daddy~

I love surprise sessions! Jen asked me to photograph her and her children as a surprise for her husband. I love that idea! It was also the first time I had a session a Wolf Creek Winery in Akron. I've been there for many events but not a session. It was so beautiful! A perfect location. Also the location of their wedding pictures....awwwww.

 A watermelon dress! ADORABLE!

To me, this shouts...long summer days.

 So sweet.

 Sweet and sassy!

 Big boy pose!

~The Treash Family~

This is a fun group. They reminded me of my daughters and the conversations we have at our house. First we started with the girls and their cats. Adorable! The cats were a little unsure of what to do or what the heck was going on but I was able to capture Abby and Carly's love for their precious pets. We then had some family fun and took a walk down Riverfront. The water fountain was a special spot for them. I took an similar image with another family but the two girls giggling on the colorful wall was too cute. Enjoy!

~Catalano Family~

They are one of my favorite families. I first photographed Louie when he was only a few weeks old. Now, almost five years later, I get to continue. It's always fun to see them and they are always full of love and cuteness. Their walls of their home are full of photographs. I LOVE when people display the most important people in their lives. Displaying and treasuring each memory.

ADORABLE!
That's one stylin (almost) 5 year old.

They are so sweet.

I didn't tell them to hold hands! Heartwarming.

Cuteness overload!

~Pug Fun~

It doesn't happen often enough that I get asked to photograph animals only. You never know what you are going to get, but that's what makes it so fun and exciting. Lucky for me, these pugs were pretty well behaved. We had fun and some laughs. I always enjoy photographing them. They are so darn cute!
Love this one!
Pretty girl

A little scared but so cute. Check out her 'dairy queen' tail!

~Thomas 5days~

When I arrived to photograph Thomas, the "hairdryer" was playing on the radio, Thomas was rocking in his little bassinet rocker and mom and day were hovering, watching closely. I LOVED IT. They were adorable and sleep deprived. It's been five days since he arrived and they just got home from the hospital. Whew! I think every new parent deserves a trophy! I was lucky enough that mom contacted me so early to capture Thomas in his first week. He was awake A LOT and wanted to be. He didn't want to miss the excitement:) At he end we gave it "one last try" and ended up with some beautiful sleeping baby portraits. Mr. Thomas is a big boy and I'm sure he will grow up and make his parents very proud. I can't wait to watch him grow and change.

Will and Jenn March 10,2012 by MC Life Portraits

The new Mr. and Mrs. Mackin. You couldn't ask for better weather last Saturday. I mean last year the weather in Akron was inches of snow. It was a little breezy but sunshine galore! Jenn and Will are a great couple! They were both easy going and we were always 20 minutes ahead of schedule. In all my years, I have never photographed at the church at Walsh High school. What a great place for pictures! There was an amazing rotunda with perfect natural lighting. We had a great time. Here are a few favorites....it was so hard to choose. To see more, please visit www.facebook.com/mclifeportraits.

A cute idea suggested by the bride.
So romantic. It's almost like I'm not there.

"Trying" to be serious. lol!

Girls will be girls. *sigh*

This rarely happens. This is the EXACT spot of the engagement proposal. Longest 8 seconds of Will's life!
Congratulations to Will and Jenn and may you have the best years of your lives a head of you.

Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special day!

Happy Leap Day!

Today is Leap Day and it only comes around every four years. I want to take a moment and reflect on where I was four years ago and where I'm at today.
Four years ago (man I can't believe how fast it went) Maya was 16 months old and we took her to Sesame Street Live! Can you tell she LOVED Elmo. Also, you can barely see her boo boo by her bangs. That would be FIVE stitches from falling down in a store at Aurora Outlets. Hey, I never claimed to be "mother of the year". This was just a preview of her clumsiness. Also, we were about to get some very exciting, life changing news. We were expecting a second bundle of joy. *tears*
Today in 2012. I am a proud owner of a business named after my two joys. I get to live my dream and share my passion everyday. Although sometimes overwhelming, I LOVE my life and my family. I'm one lucky lady!
Today we are making a Family Time Capsule. We will put in it a photo of today, every body's stats of height and weight, our weekly routine and some current events. In four years, on February 29, 2016, we will open it and talk about all the changes and the memories. I encourage you to take some time out of your day today to create this memento with your kids. I don't know about you but excited to see what happens in the next four years!

My first Pinterest project.

Seems like everyone is pinning on Pinterest. Why not browse through great ideas and steal them! Brilliant! On the flip side I feel a little overwhelmed looking at everything. As a creative person already...it kind of adds to the chaos already in my head. I did, however, spot this really cute
streamer project.
I don't know about you but I'm a project starter not a project finisher. I have tons of unsewn fabrics, unfinished scrapbook pages...oh and I started crocheting for a minute. I can show you my half finished dish cloth. *sigh* So it seems that Pinterest would be fun for some people but for me its a reminder of things I would never finish. BUT then I did. I made it! I made something.
After I decided that I was not buying the Japanese silk ribbon it called for, I made an alternative purchase.
This is the before.
The results!
I'm glad that I finished this project and own a sense of completion. It feels good.
