always evolving always improving

I'm going to pick this blog up and dust it off and start talking again about my photography and the stories behind the portraits!
First, in a few days I'm taking a two day workshop in Indianapolis (never been) to study under a photographer I love, Rachel Vanoven. I'm excited to experience her work in an intimate setting with less than ten other photographers including my very good friend Krista! We get to play with newborns less than 2 weeks old! EXCITING!
I've been in photography going on FIFTEEN years but hey it would be boring if you just continued to do the same old thang. I like learning...evolving.
I'm also entering into her giveaway combined with another photographer I like, Erin Tole. I would love to win and go to California. Get me out of this cold! Wish me luck!

{the larock family}

I should promote more sessions on Lake Erie. In the evening the lighting is beautiful and unless you were there, you would think it was one of the Carolina beaches. I have been photographing this family since Evelyn, their oldest child was ten days old. They are a HOOT. They always give me a good chuckle. I think they look gorgeous with their summer glow in their white and khaki. A perfect way to end the summer is a family portrait to cherish for a lifetime. It's been fun watching them grow as a family and I love that I'm able to capture these moments for my friends.

{ava}

Ava was such a little sweet pea. She braved the heat and did a great job during her session. She has her daddy's looks and mommy's personality. Love her big brown eyes! Although she looks super duper cute all dressed up, I think she was the happiest in a diaper only!

~surprise for daddy~

I love surprise sessions! Jen asked me to photograph her and her children as a surprise for her husband. I love that idea! It was also the first time I had a session a Wolf Creek Winery in Akron. I've been there for many events but not a session. It was so beautiful! A perfect location. Also the location of their wedding pictures....awwwww.

 A watermelon dress! ADORABLE!

 To me, this shouts...long summer days.

 So sweet.

 Sweet and sassy!

 Big boy pose!

~The Treash Family~

This is a fun group. They reminded me of my daughters and the conversations we have at our house. First we started with the girls and their cats. Adorable! The cats were a little unsure of what to do or what the heck was going on but I was able to capture Abby and Carly's love for their precious pets. We then had some family fun and took a walk down Riverfront. The water fountain was a special spot for them. I took an similar image with another family but the two girls giggling on the colorful wall was too cute. Enjoy!
